Nitrogen-fixing bacteria find their food in the carbon residues in the crop, providing a sufficient source of en6rgy to fix nitrogen molecules from the air. At the same time, by decomposing detritus, the insoluble phosphates from the soil are transformed into forms easily-absorbed by the plants, providing phosphorus, organic acids and enzymes that have bio-stimulating action on the plants.
